Principle of action & application

RETENTIS® absorbs rainwater, irrigation water, and nutrients and releases them back to the plant over a long period of time. This provides ideal protection against drought stress and heat waves.

RETENTIS® is suitable for agriculture and forestry, horticulture and landscaping, soil and substrate production, and for private use. It can be used on all annual and perennial plants, all soil types, and in a variety of climatic conditions.

Organic certifications

Austria: RETENTIS® was tested by Easy-Cert on the basis of the EU Organic Regulation No. 2018/848 and the BIO AUSTRIA standard.

Germany/Spain: RETENTIS® is listed in the FiBL input list (EU) and is therefore approved for organic farming.

Storage

RETENTIS® is available in various packaging units and is easy to store. RETENTIS® is non-hygroscopic and has a shelf life of over 24 months when unopened. For optimal storage, we recommend keeping RETENTIS® in a cool, dry place. Storage class (LGK) according to TRGS 510: 13 – Non-combustible solids.

Specifications

RETENTIS® is a black-brown lignin-based granulate 🌿 – 100% free from synthetic polymers.

💧 Water retention: 1 g of RETENTIS® binds up to 10 g of water and releases it to the roots as needed. Its gel-like network reliably protects plants from drought stress.

⚙ Handling: The 0.5–4 mm grain size ensures even distribution in the substrate. With a bulk density of approx. 700 kg/m³ and a loose bulk weight of 600–750 g/l, it remains easy to handle without dusting or separating.

🌱 Plant-friendly & long-lasting: With a nearly neutral pH value of 6.4–7, RETENTIS® is compatible with all common substrate mixes. Depending on conditions, it remains effective for three to five years – ensuring a long-term improvement in water availability.

Packaging sizes

Practical packaging sizes for every need

We offer RETENTIS® in four practical packaging options 📦: The handy 750 g pack is perfect for small quantities, while the sturdy 20 kg paper bag is ideal for daily use in production.

For larger volumes, CP1 pallets (1000 × 1200 × 138 mm) are available – either as a pallet with 25 paper bags of 20 kg each (total 500 kg) or as a big bag containing 500 to 750 kg net. On request, we can configure pallet units individually to suit your needs.

All packaging complies with storage class 13 according to TRGS 510 – approved for non-combustible solids and easy to store.
