What is Retentis®?
Retentis® is a lignin-based biological hydrogel that increases soil water retention capacity and promotes soil fertility.
What is the difference between “Agrobiogel” and “Retentis®”?
Both products are based on the lignin technology of AgroBiogel GmbH. "Agrobiogel" was the original product name, while "Retentis®" is the current brand name for the further developed product.
How does Retentis® work?
Retentis® stores water and releases it slowly to the plants during drought, reducing plant stress and supporting healthy growth.
Is Retentis® an organic product?
Yes, Retentis® is a biological product and suitable for use in organic farming.
Application & dosage
Where can Retentis® be used?
Retentis® is universally applicable: in all soil types, planters, beds, and even for grave plantings.
How do you use Retentis®?
Retentis® should be mixed dry with the substrate or superficially incorporated into the soil (approximately 5–10 cm deep). After incorporation, sufficient watering is required to activate the gel.
What is the correct dosage for Retentis®?
- Potted plants: 10–20 g per liter of substrate
- New plantings (e.g. wine, fruit): 100–200 g per plant
- Vegetables: 250–500 g/m²
- Lawns and ornamental plants: 250–500 g/m²
- Substrate mixtures: 10–40 g per liter of substrate
How often should Retentis® be applied?
Application with each new planting is recommended. Retentis® remains active in the soil for 3–5 years.
Can I apply Retentis® to existing plantations?
Retentis® was developed for new plantings. An application for existing plantings is under development.
