Project N
Garden redesign with RETENTIS® for a sustainable supply of water and nutrients
In Project N, a modern garden was created around a private home, with a natural swimming pond, generous lawns, planted perennial beds and a newly planted honey locust. The linear design combines clear structures with planting suited to the site and high-quality materials.
Targeted soil improvement with RETENTIS®
We supported the project with advice and supplied RETENTIS®, a water and nutrient storage granulate for targeted improvement of the soil structure. Working RETENTIS® into the soil allows water and nutrients to remain available in the root zone for longer. This supports a more even supply to the plants and creates good conditions for the sustainable development of the entire garden.
RETENTIS® was applied to suit each planting area:
- Perennial beds: incorporation of RETENTIS® at 200 g/m².
- Lawn seeding: incorporation of RETENTIS® at 100 g/m², rotary-tilled evenly into the soil together with fertiliser.
- Turf: incorporation of RETENTIS® at 100 g/m², also rotary-tilled into the prepared subsoil together with fertiliser.
- Tree planting: targeted soil improvement with RETENTIS® in the planting area of the newly planted honey locust.
Honey locust as the defining tree by the natural swimming pond
A honey locust (Gleditsia triacanthos) was chosen as a solitary tree. Its loose, light-permeable crown and delicate foliage blend harmoniously into the modern garden design. As the species is predominantly insect-pollinated, less airborne pollen is to be expected around the natural swimming pond than with typical wind-pollinated trees.
